Ever since I could remember I have been fascinated with anything that had fur or feathers. That lead me to achieving a degree in Veterinary Technology in 1993. I was licensed and board-certified Vet Tech in the state of Colorado. I was number one in my class for animal handling. Then my desire to serve humans with their health needs lead me to achieve LPN then RN.
I am a very compassionate person to all living things.
It didn’t take long for me to see that the Frenchie is clearly different. Much like the classroom clown, they will do anything to get the laugh or smile. Their expressions speak volumes. They are confident, energetic, and noisy. They snort, fart, whine when they want something. No to a Frenchie is not a word they will except nor understand. Have you noticed how many Frenchie's are dressed up like little children these days? They have hats and shoes, scarves and even backpacks to carry their own snacks.
Who could resist a Frenchie? Did you know that Frenchie make great therapy dogs too? They love to cuddle and if you are not feeling great, they seem to know it and cuddle up super close. They want you to know they sense you are sick and want to help you recover. On a serious note, you may have heard they can come with some health issues too. As a breeder I feel it is my responsibility to breed the healthiest Frenchie to live a happy long life with their loving family. To accomplish this to the best of my ability, all my Frenchie's are DNA health tested for over 200+ congenital defects prominent in the Frenchie breed.
Nobody wants to fall in love with a dog to lose it to some health issue or rack up a bunch of Vet bills. While I can’t guarantee that, I can do my best to prevent it.
While health and temperament are my focus in my breeding program, I also add some exotic color in short and long-haired Frenchie's (fluffy Frenchie's).
Another important aspect of the Frenchie is they are very social creatures. They don’t want to be left home alone. If your gone a lot, then the Frenchie is not the dog for you, and you might be better off with a cat. Frenchies are like Velcro. Wherever go they ARE going too!! That’s right, you will never go to the bathroom alone again should you decide to add a Frenchie to your home. Be prepared to buy lots of toys since the main goal of a Frenchie is to get the squeaker out of the toy in 2 minutes flat! Make sure your Frenchie has a car seat because they will want to see if you know how to drive and if you don’t, they will give you driving tips.
Frenchies are also food driven. But don’t fall for their sad little beggar faces. Too many treats for a Frenchie can lead so unwanted bathroom issues. Not all dog foods or dog treats are for the Frenchie.
Should you adopt one of my Frenchies, diet will be discussed thoroughly. As a hobby breeder registered with the state of Missouri, you can expect to receive a healthy, well socialized Frenchie with lifetime of availability from me to answer questions.
